Fred Tausch
Fred Tausch is the founder of Stimulate the Economy Without Accumulating Record Debt (STEWARD) of Prosperity, a grassroots nonprofit pushing for more austerity in the government. Formerly a Democrat, Fred Tausch has constantly opposed the Obama Administration’s federal spending, particularly the passage of the $787 billion stimulus package. He also objected to the $1-billion Cash for Clunkers law, among other Democratic legislation. A staunch fiscal conservative, he believes such legislation would increase the budget deficit. Fred Tausch has been sighted in many Republican fundraisers since 2009. Subsequently, Republicans have encouraged Tausch to represent New Hampshire in the 2010 senatorial race. He has since declined. Fred graduated with a degree in electrical engineering and computer science from Tufts University, after which he became a private investor. He worked thereafter at a New York-based hedge fund. At the height of the 1990s dot-com stock fad, he introduced an online business called UrbanFetch. Today, he heads Chase Capital Management, a financial services firm.
