William E. Macaulay
Best known for being the chairman of the Board of the Dresser-Rand Group Inc since October of 2004, William E. Macaulay, who is now 63 years old, is also the chairman, managing director and CEO of First Reserve Corporation. He was first employed by the company, which is a private equity firm focusing on the energy industry, in 1983. Before First Reserve, William Macaulay co-formed the private equity firm Meridien Capital Company, a company specializing in buyouts. Prior to this, he acted as Oppenheimer and Co Inc’s director of corporate finance between 1972 and 1982, handling the investment of the company’s capital in PE transactions. He earned his B.B.A. magna cum laude degree in economics from the City College of New York, and his MBA degree from University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School.
